The 10k I've been training for is Saturday — 2 days! I just finished my last run prior to the big day, and wanted to say THANK YOU! I injured my
hamstring on Thanksgiving Day (Turkey Trot casualty), and based on your advice, I believe I selected the best training program (Jenny Hadfield)
post-injury, and for my first ever 10k. While my hammy still feels tight, I don't feel I'm in any danger, and I'm ready to OWN this race (Cooper River
Bridge, Charleston). I know I won't be setting any records for land speed, but I will meet my goal (finish just under 60 minutes) with no problem.
I will let you know. Thanks again for offering advice and a great program, as well as a superior website! Donna Carpentier Purchased a half marathon training program written by Jenny Hadfield. It was a great program that I was able to get right into. Race day was so exciting, 14 weeks of training paid off. I ran the whole 13.1 miles non stop and received my first medal for completing a race. Thanks !!!! Coach, You may not know it, but you have been my coach the past five months. I have always been a good runner but never had done a marathon and have always wanted to run one! This year I decided that would change and so I signed up for the Chicago Marathon. I had no idea how to train for it, as a 5K was the longest "official race" I had ever done, so I used your "Beginning Run Marathon Training Program" on activetrainer. It was a great program! Very easy to use and convenient. Of course my training had the rollercoaster ride of any marathon training program but I was committed to it and only missed a few workouts. When raceday came I was very confident and prepared, it did a great job training me for the race. For my first marathon ever on Sunday in Chicago I ran a 3:41:02! I know I can run even faster and will continue with the sport! Thank you Coach Hadfield, you have helped me achieve a lifelong goal! All the Best, |
